Endometriosis

Endometriosis affects roughly 1 in 10 women worldwide, and often goes undiagnosed. Its cause unknown, Endometriosis is a disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, leading to inflammation and scarring in the pelvic region. It often causes severe pain, especially during menstruation, sex, bowel movements, and urination. It can lead to nausea, fatigue, infertility, and depression.

There is no known cure or prevention for endometriosis, but early diagnosis and treatment with laparoscopic surgery can slow or halt the treatment of the disease and reduce the long-term symptoms.
